In a world that often disconnects us from our history, our culture, and each other, the Rooted & Planted Party creates intentional space to reconnect. This event honors the African-centered concept of “village”—the idea that we thrive when we are rooted in community, supported by our people, and grounded in our collective history and values.

The Rooted & Planted Party offers a rich, multi-faceted celebration designed to engage all ages and interests:
Celebrate Black History & Village Culture: Engage with displays, conversations, and presentations that honor Black history, achievements, and cultural wisdom. Learn about the village concept and how it strengthens our communities today.
Live DJ & Music: Dance, groove, and celebrate to live music and DJ performances throughout the day. From classic hits to contemporary sounds, the music will keep the energy high and the vibes authentic.
Food & Local Vendors: Enjoy delicious food from local vendors and restaurants. Support Black-owned businesses and taste the flavors of our community. From traditional dishes to contemporary cuisine, there’s something for every palate.
Community Marketplace: Browse and shop from local artisans, vendors, and small businesses. This is an opportunity to support Black entrepreneurs and find unique, meaningful products.
Arts & Creative Expression: Experience visual art, performance, and creative expression that celebrates Black culture and creativity. From visual artists to performers, this is a space for cultural expression and celebration.
Community Connection: Most importantly, this event is about connecting with neighbors, building relationships, and strengthening the bonds that hold our community together. Whether you’re meeting new friends or reconnecting with old ones, this is a space for genuine community connection.
